FAQ
Questions, answered
Everything you might want to know before you ride.
Do I need an Apple Watch to use Pacetastic?
No. You can record GPS rides on your iPhone alone, even without Apple Watch or Health access. With a Watch, you get the comfort of live metrics on your wrist while the phone handles the route and history.
What data does Pacetastic collect?
With your permission, Pacetastic reads workout metrics (like heart rate and active energy) from your Apple Watch and uses GPS to track your live speed and route. When you finish a ride, it saves your workout, distance, and route to Apple Health.
Where does my ride history live?
Completed rides are stored on your iPhone and automatically saved to Apple Health. You can browse your full history, drill into route maps and metric grids, and even import rides from Apple Health.
What is ride recovery?
Pacetastic continuously checkpoints your ride and route to disk. If your ride is ever interrupted by a crash or power loss, it recovers the unfinished ride on your phone or watch — so every meter you rode is preserved and can be saved to Apple Health.
Will GPS or the app drain my battery?
Pacetastic uses background location only while a ride is active and stops recording when you finish. The Apple Watch handles workout recording efficiently so the phone can stay in your pocket.
